I am looking forward to giving my book talk for Wave Hill’s Horticultural Lecture Series especially since the very cover of my book shows the marvelous landscape of Wave Hill. One of the heroes profiled in the book is Wave Hill’s first head of horticulture, Marco Polo Stufano who was a mentor to the talented current head, Louis Bauer. Louis did brilliant work elsewhere before returning to Wave Hill to insure the gardens are more wonderful every year. He, in turn, mentors younger gardeners who are fortunate to work with him there.
