We were lucky to be in Florida on Boca Grande for a peaceful time during the month of February and returned home to open the door to this indoor vision of sunshine in our Ct. kitchen — the Clivia in full bloom back lit by the setting sun. Glorious welcome back.
And then the Covid – 19 virus struck and we were all in lock down! At least we had enjoyed Florida when things were still open and systems seemed normal. And I gave a book talk for the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach.
A few days later, I was in New York City and then joined my husband Charlie in Williamsburg, Virginia the first weekend in March for the Annual Conference of the American Society of Marine Artists and the opening of their National Exhibition in the Jamestown Museum. Five days later, the world came to a halt! The Museum closed, New York City was not the place to go, my law firm ordered all our people in our offices around the world to work remotely from home and we were happy to be in CT. All the talks I had scheduled for March and April, including one in Fort Worth, Texas, were cancelled.
Spring was arriving anyway and this glorious show of snowdrops cheered us up. Crocus in bloom and daffodils are just beginning to raise their cheery heads. And of course, working in the garden is therapy!
