A bit early for the gardens, but a delightful group sponsored by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society came for a visit and picnic lunch on May 20, 1917. After walking around the gardens, everyone found a spot to settle down for a peaceful lunch, enhanced by Charlie’s insistence on serving wine.
Doug Mackenzie ,who with Nicole Rhoads had worked to organize the tour, broke out his own drone and flew it around, buzzing us all as we sat, taking aerial photos. Sorry to report, that he left PHS soon after the visit so we never got to see the results, although we had a lot of fun watching the drone fly around over head. Charlie and Doug are pictured here with drone ready to launch.
