I was delighted to be asked by Christopher Carduff, the book editor of the Wall St. Journal, to write this year’s spring round up of gardening books, as I did last year. It came out on the weekend edition and you can read it here. Happy that the first book I reviewed, Saving Central Park, was written by Elizabeth Barlow Rogers, one of my heroines profiled in my book, Heroes of Horticulture: Americans Who Transf0rmed the Landscape. This is her personal telling, including extracts from the journals she kept during her extraordinary work that saved the Park and has served as a role model of a private-public partnership for communities all around the country. You can read it here.
