Nice to have the cool Woodland with its Waterworks to work in during the recent heat spell. But for the Fourth, despite the threat of thunder storms, the weather cooperated and the fireworks at Lake Waramaug were marvelous! And the storm did drop about 1/2 an inch of water on our very thirsty garden. Quite welcome since it came without high winds or lightning. Temperatures also cooled a bit. I was happy to get the last bit of seedlings out of the cold frames and planted in the borders. Now time for summer mulch. And work in Skye’s garden where opium poppies have taken over.
