I had a wonderful afternoon at the Queens Botanical Garden where I spoke about my book in the impressive new Visitors and Administration Building, beautifully designed with a green roof with evironmentally sensitive systems. Here I am after the talk with some of the Garden’s young interns who are students at a public High School. I grew up in Queens and my father had a pharmacy on Main Street, in Flushing, on the very same street as the Garden which is just several blocks south of where his store used to be. November is a hard time to see any garden but the Queens Botanical Garden was looking beautiful set. Below is a picture of Susan Lacerte, the Executive Director of QBG and Darcy Hector, the Director of Marketing and Development who kindly invited me. Note the beautiful entrance gate which is also pictured as well as one of me delivering my talk.
