St. Patrick’s Day Talk for Sharon Woman’s Club

On a day of Irish misty weather, I was delighted to give a talk about my book  Heroes of Horticulture: Americans Who Transformed the Landscape to the members of the Sharon’s Woman’s Club.   Janet Accardo began inviting me to speak in 2019 for a date in 2020 before the world shut down.  Finally, March 17, 2022 worked and you see here Janet, the Program Chair, holding my book, along with Charlene Whitney, President of the Club, whose members do so much to support, improve and enhance their community through volunteer service.  Lovely to be greeted by members wearing green, shamrock crowns and other green decorations.  Here I am in green as well.

I was happy to note one of the 18 heroes and heroines profiled in the book includes a heroine who gardens in Sharon.  After the talk,  they served delicious treats, including mint brownies topped with green and Irish soda bread scones.  A very special day.
