The Moon Garden

is just inside the garden gate. From early Spring until late Fall, there is the music of the fountain’s splashing water — the statue of a young girl holds a spouting frog and water spills first into a scalloped basin at her feet and then on into the small pool below. Borrowing ideas from the Golden Garden at Crathes Castle in Scotland, Barbara’s design features the yellow foliage of “evergolds” which serve as sun substitutes in the winter landscape. Touches of purple compliment the predominantly yellow theme.
